Baryon-number violation from the bottom up

I will present on the results of our recent paper 2312.13361, in which we study two-body baryon-number violating proton and neutron decays in the context of the SM EFT at dimensions 6 and 7. Our main results are: (1) accounting for running properly is very important, (2) the SM EFT doesn’t allow flat directions in two-body decays, (3) we are not in trouble if we see only one B-violating decay mode at Hyper-K, (4) it would be nice if hadronic uncertainties could improve.
