On the origin of the most energetic neutrino ever detected: KM3-230213A
The KM3NeT collaboration is constructing two Cherenkov detectors deep in the Mediterranean Sea: ARCA, situated off the Sicilian coast, aims to detect high-energy astrophysical neutrinos, and ORCA, located 40 km off-shore Toulon, designed to study atmospheric neutrino oscillations. Despite currently operating in partial configurations, both detectors have yielded exciting initial physics results. In this seminar, I will present the latest findings, highlighting the detection of KM3-230213A, the most energetic neutrino observed to date.
